Missions to Military
March Madness - March 2006
Dear Friends,

"March Madness" is a term used to describe the excitement surrounding basketball tournaments.  This month we have also heard it used to describe our schedule!  We have already been involved in three missions conferences and shared at our home church.  By the time you get this letter we will have been at another church and then be preparing to attend another conference.

If it was just meetings for the sake of activity it could be very tiring.  But we are excited about the opportunity to share this ministry and how God is working in peoples lives, challenge others to get involved, and seek more workers for the harvest field.  Some people get carried away when their team wins the Bible tells us that there is joy in heaven when one sinner repents.  We dont have to imagine that the joyous heavenly celebration eclipses any earthly feelings about sports!

The themes of the conferences we have attended have been Open Doors, Operation Go:  Fishers of Men Everywhere, Casting Their Nets Everywhere and Faithful in Service.   These are challenging thoughts for Gods people to make sure they are personally involved in spreading the gospel.  We understand that not everyone is called to go out and have their full time vocation be on the mission field; ministering to your neighbor, co-worker, and family member is just as important.  But we also know that the harvest field is white and there is a severe lack of workers.  At one conference there were seven missionaries introduced on a particular night.  Each was asked for a prayer request and six out of the seven said, More workers!

We are thankful for the calling that the Lord has placed on our lives to be involved in His work on the front lines.  Front line troops need support behind them and we are thankful that you stand with us.  We appreciate your prayers, encouragement and support.

Pray with us that God would burden more hearts to join in the labors that provide heaven with great reason to rejoice a little March Madness all year long!
