| Full Day of Ministry - February 2006 |
|
Dear Friends, Encouraging, counseling, assisting, fellowshipping and passing out food are things we do all the time they just dont usually take place all in the same day. This month started with a day packed full of opportunities to minister. The day started very early (6:30) as Steve and Mike came to the door to meet John for participation in a local half marathon. Steve, a Marine Colonel, has been coming to the Center for several months and has been a blessing to watch as he gets involved in studying, praying, serving and even running with John. Mike, a Navy Commander, came at Steves invitation. Back at the Center ladies started arriving around 9:00 to begin a full day of scrapbooking. Kathy, a Navy wife and ardent scrapper, was there to get things ready and receive the guests for the day. Also, several of our family members came in to town for the weekend to enjoy the craft day and also assist with projects around the house and Center. Sandy received a phone call from a young lady who used to attend the Center but is now in college. She spent some time offering advice and counsel about an issue being faced. It is always encouraging to be able to offer the help and hope of Gods Word and His love to those who seek it. The phone rang again with someone on the other end having found out about the food program that we offer. They were a young military couple going through some hard times looking for help. We were glad to have them come out, see the Center, find out what were all about, and then leave with several bags of groceries. It is our prayer that they will be touched by the gospel that was given to them and the kindness that was shown. A distress call came from one of the wives whose husband is in Iraq. She was out and about with her four young children and discovered she had a brake line leaking fluid. Thankfully our brother in law was visiting so he took a break from his repair work on the house and Center and took off with Sandy and her sister to do some patch up work on her vehicle. We praise the Lord for Tami being able to reach us for help, for Dale being here and having the knowledge to be able to do a quick fix, for another friend who was able to offer an extra vehicle, and for a reliable Christian mechanic friend who was able to squeeze her in for a complete repair on Monday. We are thankful to be here to offer help, hope, encouragement and fellowship to those who are looking. You are the reason that we can play a part in showing Gods love in so many ways to so many people. Thank you for your prayers, encouragement and support.
